LAT Leaders Meet with Lt. Governor Dan Patrick in Austin

Welcome to the Lumbermen's Association of Texas

LAT serves multi-generational family-owned businesses in the lumber and building material industry, often referred to as lumber dealers.  Dealers serve every sector of Texas' thriving housing and construction economies but share a focus on serving independent home builders, remodelers, repair trades and DIYers.

LAT advocates for the Texas building material industry at both the state and federal levels.  There is significant strength in working together and speaking in an unified voice before the Texas legislature in Austin and before the U.S. Congress in Washington D.C.

The value of a LAT membership

"Our company has placed a value on LAT membership for over 100 years.   My involvement with LAT allows me to develop relationships with professionals in our industry whom I respect greatly. I have been able to learn and grow through educational seminars, networking events, and informal discussions.  These have had positive practical applications in our business.  We have also been able to make training available to our Team Members on critical topics such as Customer Service, Yard Foreman, Estimating, and Merchandising.  And of course, LAT is the legislative workhorse for the common issues we face as lumber dealers." Matt Mullin, President & COO
Alamo Lumber Company

“I’ve been active in LAT for over 40 years.  LAT keeps McCoy’s informed on key issues, lobbies for our business in the Texas legislature, and provides timely training.   We value the forum to cultivate relationships with other dealers, and our associate members as well.  And while we dealers compete in the marketplace, we also crusade together to keep our industry strong and relevant.”    Brian McCoy, CEO, McCoy’s Building Supply
